Swans, Fen Drove 2012
In the Fens, the land is flat and skies are wide. Parts of the Fens are still a wilderness of wetlands that attract thousands of swans from the arctic circle over the winter months. The stark light, the drove fringed with ragged reeds and the silhouetted swans gliding through the still waters represents mythology in our own time.
Image supplied as archival pigment ink on fine Japanese Kozo paper. This paper provides seductive sooty blacks. The edges are teased out paper fibres which adds a lovely individual hand made quality to the print.
